Engr. Umar Sanda Abubakar is a licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer with over 10 years of progressive experience in aviation maintenance, technical operations, and airworthiness management. He brings deep technical expertise and strategic oversight to his role, ensuring operational safety, regulatory compliance, and continuous airworthiness of the company’s fleet.
He holds an MBA in Aviation Management from ITAEREA Aeronautical Business School, Spain, and dual diplomas in Avionics and Airframe & Powerplant Engineering from Mideast Aviation Academy in Jordan. His credentials are recognized by both the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCCA) and the Jordanian Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission (CARC).
Over the course of his career, Engr. Umar has served in key engineering and leadership positions at leading aviation firms, including Max Air, Azman Air, and Dornier Aviation. His technical portfolio includes maintenance and certification for aircraft such as the Boeing 737 Classic/NG, Boeing 747, Embraer 135/145, and Legacy 600/650, with specialized training on Rolls Royce AE3007 engines and various aviation systems.
Currently serving as Director of Continuing Airworthiness at PYATIC Flying & Associates Ltd, he leads maintenance planning, compliance monitoring, and technical personnel management. He is also highly skilled in Safety Management Systems, Human Factors, RVSM, EWIS, and ground operations procedures.
